APS6 Regional Security Adviser

Darwin, NT Location | 12 month contract with the possibility of extension | Hourly rate of $51.50 plus superannuation | Occasional interstate travel

Our Federal Government client is currently seeking Regional Security Adviser to join their office at the APS6 level. Within this role, you will provide advice and support to assist in the delivery of the Department’s core deliverables.

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Providing timely, accurate and appropriate protective security advice
  • Contributing to the development, management and delivery of protective security projects
  • Contributing to responses to a wide range of operational security matters
  • Identifying and reporting emerging security issues/incidents/trends and provide suggested solutions
  • Contributing to the development of security awareness resources and participating in the delivery of face-to-face training sessions to staff Australia-wide
  • Conducting site security reviews at offices Australia-wide

    To be successful in this position, you will possess;

  • Demonstrated experience in Australian Government protective security experience and/or qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability for continuous learning and innovative thinking
  • Knowledge, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge, of Australian Government protective security policies and procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different business areas
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with colleagues on building security awareness in the workplace

    PLEASE NOTE: Occasional interstate travel may be required in this role.

    This is a security assessed position. Applicants must be an Australian citizen, with successful candidate either holding or having the ability to obtain a Negative Vetting 1 Australian Government security clearance or undergo other employment suitability checks.
