Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an APS6 Project Officer to join their office on a contractual basis. Working within a team, you will support senior officers to design and develop operational policy and programs. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in the implementation of large government programs or the ability to learn new things quickly.
Your responsibilities will include; Developing and managing work plans for medium term project tasks Liaising with internal stakeholders on program and project issues Drafting communications products, briefing papers and presentations Contributing to contract management of research consultancies Supporting in program management, risk management and program assurance functions
To be successful in this position, you will possess; An understanding of government administration and program management Strong policy writing skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas with simple messages Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn evidence into advice Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with project team members and stakeholders
Formal project management training and/or qualifications as well as post graduate qualifications in a non-technical area would be highly desired.
This is a security assessed position. Applicants must be an Australian citizen, with successful candidate either holding or having the ability to obtain a Baseline Australian Government security clearance or undergo other employment suitability checks.
