Surry Hills, NSW location | $51.50 per hour plus 9.5% superannuation | 12 month contract with the possibility of extension
Our prominent Federal Government client is currently seeking an APS6 Regional Security Adviser to join their team in Surry Hills, NSW on a contractual basis. You will be working within the Protective & Cyber Security Branch which is responsible for implementing the requirements of the Protective Security Policy Framework within the Department. You will provide advice and support to assist the Department to deliver on its core deliverables. PLEASE NOTE: This role may require the occasional interstate travel, necessitating absence from home for up to several days at a time.
Duties will include: Provision of timely, accurate and appropriate protective security advice to Departmental staff and contractors Contribute to the development, management and delivery of identified protective security projects Contribute to response to a wide range of operational security matters for the Department Australia wide Identification and reporting of emerging security issues/incidents/trends and provide suggested solutions where applicable Contribute to the development and socialising of the Department’s security awareness resources Participate in the delivery of various face-to-face security awareness training sessions Conduct Site Security Reviews of Departmental offices Australia-wide
Essential criteria: Must have an NV1 clearance or the ability to obtain Demonstrated Australian Government protective security experience Well-developed oral and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively within a Protective Security Team and across different business areas
This is a security assessed position. Applicants must be an Australian citizen, with successful candidate either holding or having the ability to obtain a Baseline Australian Government security clearance or undergo other employment suitability checks.
