Executive Support Officer – Queanbeyan

  • Salary between $95,000-$113,000 (depending on experience)

    Our State Government client is currently seeking an experienced Executive Support Officer to join their team in Queanbeyan. You will be responsible for providing a range of high level support services to the Directorate by coordinating, managing and assisting with projects, administrative, professional and personnel functions. You will be working constructively with differing stakeholders and managers to achieve a realistic and effective process to meet variable and tight deadlines. You will also be managing the challenges presented including the effect on culture, motivation and staff satisfaction.

    Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, manage and review the provision of high level communications and correspondence including briefings, reports and submissions
  • Lead and/or contribute to projects including implementing, monitoring and reporting on milestones and plans to inform decision making and support achievement of organisational objectives
  • Identify risks and potential solutions using autonomy, high level initiative, independent judgement, leadership and problem solving
  • Build partnerships and collaborative relationships including the effective management of conflicts and grievances
  • Research and prepare advice, information and reports on diverse and complex policy, planning and operational matters
  • Work closely with the Director to optimise the Directorates productivity through clear communication and delineation of tasks and workload

    Selection criteria:

  • Demonstrated understanding of project management including working to timeframes and delivering a project on time
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to evaluate, interpret and collate large amounts of data and provide meaningful, accurate reports
  • Proven organisational skills, including managing multiple meetings and relevant documentation and follow up
  • Demonstrated advanced interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and respond
  • Demonstrated sound analytical, problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills
  • Proven capacity to work autonomously and also part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve project outcomes
  • Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
