EL1/EL2 Strategic Advisors – Melbourne CBD

SOS Recruitment is currently working with a high profile, federal government client who are seeking experienced Strategic Advisors to develop and implement complex policies, which are aligned to strategic priorities within the agency. These opportunities will be offered on an hourly rate contract commencing ASAP through until 30 June 2019 with extension options.

Within these roles, you will be required to;

  • Support the Strategic Advisor in project scoping, development, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Prepare and present high quality reports, correspondence, ministerial briefings and submissions on policy and operational/program and project issues
  • Provide timely expert advice and develop open and effective communication strategies including collection of highly complex, contentious or sensitive information or matters of business
  • Manage the governance of the project
  • Work within an agreed Agency project management framework and manage multiple priorities
  • Perform independent research and analysis to determine optimal operational solutions.
  • Develop innovative solutions to issues effecting delivery of the project.
  • Maintain project artefacts including project management plan, budget, resourcing, scheduling and performance reports to assure integrity of the project.

    To succeed in this role, you will possess;

  • Proven experience leading teams and the ability to mentor and guide in a collaborative and transparent manner;
  • Experience in a legislated and regulatory environment;
  • Develop extensive relationships with both senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have outstanding communication skills and the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders with confidence and ease;

    Ideally, the successful candidate will have;

  • Demonstrated experience delivering large scale reform in a Government context
  • Formal Project Management qualifications
  • Formal qualifications and/or extensive experience in disability/health/social services/community development or related field/sector.
