Our client, a Commonwealth Government department is seeking an experienced Grants Assessment Officer at the APS5 or 6 level depending on skills and/ or experience. The role is being offered for an immediate start until end of July 2018 with possible extension.
You will have demonstrated experience in assessing large volume of grant applications (or similar) with strong analytical skills.
Key duties will include:
Assess grant applications in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. This will require you to read large amounts of information and summarise it using plain and simple English. Quickly learn program policies, assessment procedures and how to use an IT database. Act in accordance with the Australian Public Service Code of Conduct. This work will require you to maintain strict confidentiality about information held by government. Work cooperatively in a team environment. You must also be able to communicate clearly with departmental officers and other staff working in the section.
Previous experience assessing grants in a federal government department would be highly regarded.
