APS 5/6 Recruitment Officer

Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced recruiter to join their team at the APS 5/6 level for an initial 6 month hourly rate contract commencing ASAP.

Working as the Recruitment Officer, you will be responsible for;

  • Developing position advertisements for public use
  • Taking position briefs and working closely with senior managers to understand recruitment needs
  • Coordinating internal recruitment processes including interview scheduling, outcome management, creation and distribution of letters of offer and engagement contracts, etc.
  • Additional support to the section and senior management as required

    In order to succeed in this role, you will possess;

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • High level stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to remain focused and on task in a busy environment
  • Agency recruitment experience recruiting into Federal Government

  • EL1/EL2 Project Manager – 6 month contract

    Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced project manager at the EL1 or EL2 level for a 6 month contract starting mid-February, with a possible extension of 6 months.

    Your role will be to plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of the specific Strategic Program you are working on (including monitoring and managing progress reporting). You will work closely with the Program Lead and Program Sponsor to make sure that the scope and direction of each project, and stream of work within the program, is on schedule and within budget. .

    Responsibilities include:

  • Support the Program Lead in the program scoping, development, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Manage the effective governance of projects and ensure appropriate evaluation of progress, quality, cost activities and escalation as necessary.
  • Supervise project activities and resources to deliver agreed outputs.
  • Work within an agreed Agency program management framework and manage multiple priorities while maintaining high work standards and accuracy to meet tight and often conflicting timeframes.
  • Build and manage collaborative relationships with National Office work groups, regions, and external stakeholders to support effective communications.
  • Perform independent research and analysis to determine operational solutions.
  • Develop innovative solutions to issues effecting delivery of the Strategic Program.
  • Develop and implement sourcing schedule to ensure workforce coverage and manage the program estimating activities
  • Maintain project artefacts including, project management plans, budget, resourcing, scheduling and performance reports to assure integrity of the program.

    Ideally you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience leading project teams within a legislated environment where decisions involve judgement based on the assembly, analysis and application of all available evidence.
  • Have outstanding communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain networks within the Agency and with external parties.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large scale reform in a Government context.
  • Formal Program/Project Management Qualifications.

  • APS5/6 Finance Officer

    Our Federal Government client is seeking Finance Officer at the APS5/6 level to join an established team responsible for the department's financial accounting and operations. The branch aims to ensure the department meets its financial accountability responsibilities to Government and the Parliament.

    This opportunity will be offered on an hourly rate contract for an initial 3-6 month period commencing ASAP.

    Working as the Finance Office, you will work across a range of financial and accounting activities including monthly and annual financial statements reporting, as well as development of policies and procedures related to external financial reporting. The successful candidate will undertake monthly and annual external financial reporting work which is provided to the Department of Finance. The successful candidate will also assist in preparation of financial statements including completion of detailed working papers and reconciliations for the financial statements disclosure notes.

    To succeed in the role you will have;

  • an understanding of the public sector financial accounting framework;
  • a solid understanding of financial statements and associated disclosure note preparation;
  • a sound knowledge and understanding of the SAP (or a similar) financial system;
  • intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel competence;
  • sound written and verbal communication skills;
  • the ability to demonstrate initiative, autonomy and work within strict deadlines; and
  • innovation and sound analytical skills with an eye for detail.

    Professional accounting qualifications or study towards a CPA/CA or equivalent qualification will be highly regarded.

  • APS 5 Finance Officer – Baseline Clearance Required

    Our client, a centrally located Federal Government department is looking for an APS 5 Finance Officer, commencing early February for a 6 month Non-Ongoing contract. Applicants must have a sound understanding of the Australian Government’s financial, procurement and grants policy frameworks, Government Budget cycle and Portfolio Budget Statements.

    Duties for this role will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation and monitoring of budgets
  • Assisting with end of month processes including commitment reporting, accruals, journals, variance analysis, reconciliations and distribution of reports.
  • Processing departmental leave for transfers in and out.
  • Assisting with property expenses related tasks and asset commissioning.
