APS6 – Technical Specialist

Our client, a Commonwealth government department is seeking an experienced APS6 Technical Specialist to join their team located in Canberra’s CBD.

The contract is initially until December 2017 with the possibility of extension.

The successful applicant will be responsible for (under the direction of an Executive Level 1) the development of APET/360Pro online content and associated PDF forms, assessment/reporting databases and the allocation tools required to support multiple purchasing activities. Provision of data to support purchasing decisions and providing support for the use of data tools.

The ideal applicants would have experience and be proficient in:

• APET 360pro tender evaluation software (desired but not essential)

• writing Visual Basic scripts

• Adobe Smart forms

• using MS Access and MS Excel applications and experience with the exchange of data between Access and Excel, and

• Ability to quickly understanding (computer)code and be able to apply the code to new requirements.

APS6 – Medical/Scientific Evaluator

Vacancy till 29 June 2018 with the possibility of extension. This Commonwealth government department offers diverse and interesting work in a supportive and friendly environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing accurate professional, specialist and/or technical advice on complex matters related to medicines
  • Assessment of new substances for use in medicines
  • Assessing and enforcing compliance of medicines
  • Preparing and reviewing documents, including recommendations and reports for delegates' decisions, briefing papers and guidance documents
  • Undertaking research and analysis to prepare technical and/or scientific recommendations, reports and guidelines. Providing information as required to external stakeholders on matters related to the quality and safety of medicines.

    Essential

    Scientific analytical ability demonstrated through work in a research, industry or regulatory environment. A relevant qualification in biochemistry, pharmacy, toxicology, medical sciences, pharmacology, pharmacognosy or any other relevant discipline from an Australian tertiary institution or comparable overseas qualifications.

  • APS 6 Policy Officer

    Our client, a centrally based high profile government department is seeking an experienced Policy Officer at the APS 6 level for a period of 3 months with the possibility of extension.

    If you are seeking to contribute to government policy development this is an excellent opportunity for you. In order to be considered for this role applicants must be able to demonstrate their experience in the development, analysis and implementation of complex policy. There will be extensive liaison and negotiation with other government and international agencies.

    Previous experience with parliamentary writing such as cabinet submissions or contributing to large reports would be highly regarded. Candidates with post graduate education in areas such as economics or business administration will also be highly regarded.

    ASO5 – Client Services Manager

    Public sector or not for profit experience highly regarded.

    A community services agency is seeking an experienced Client Services Manager who has had previous experience in social policy, community issues or the not for profit sector. You must have the ability to demonstrate strong negotiation and problem solving skills, and empathy for clients dealing with complex and crisis situations.

    Specific duties include:

    • Client service visits • Routine property inspections • Monitor case plans • Provide input into planning and delivery of services • Prepare general correspondence and provide information and draft replies for responses to ministerial correspondence

    You must have a clean driving record and the vacancy is being offered for an initial 6 to 8 weeks with possibility of an extension. The hourly contract rate is around $37 plus superannuation and the role will commence ASAP.

    A current Working With Vulnerable People Check or the ability to obtain one is required for this position.


    APS5 Policy Officer

    Our client, a large Commonwealth government department is seeking experienced policy officer to commence immediately until 30 June 2018.

    To be successful you must have strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated capacity to work effectively as a member of a team and the ability to prioritise tasks is essential.

    Duties include but not limited to:

    • Take accountability for tasks and decisions to achieve goals through the provision of guidance;

    • Maintain a well-developed understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks and provide technical advice in specific areas of policy;

    • Undertake routine engagement with internal and external clients, stakeholders and service providers;

    • Assist with the organisation of industry meetings;

    • Draft Ministerial submissions, Departmental or Ministerial correspondence; • Assist with managing projects and/or contracts to support policy development.

    These positions may require interstate and overnight travel.

    Essential Experience in a similar role within the APS

    Desirable

    • Baseline clearance

    • Recent and relevant policy experience is highly desirable, alternatively, strong research and analytical skills, and/or experience in a communications role.

    APS4 Administration Officer
