APS6 Training Coordinator

We are seeking a Training Coordinator at the APS6 level for our well-known Federal Government client to join an established team responsible for supporting timely access to products that will help achieve better health and wellbeing for Australians, whilst checking that these products and services do not themselves put Australians’ health and safety at risk.

Working as the Training Coordinator, you will be required to;

  • Collate existing training courses and materials and create a register of training
  • Consult with staff to understand the training needs of different roles, identify the gaps in existing training, and create a list of training priorities for consideration by the Executive
  • Develop a working group or similar to collaborate with staff in similar training roles across the Division
  • Advocate for staff when collaborating with the Learning and Development section in the broader department to encourage training needs to be met
  • Preparation and dissemination of regular training updates to the branch
  • Develop a capability framework to outline the technical and general proficiencies that are expected at each level in different areas.
  • Creation and maintenance of the Sharepoint site
  • Operate as a central point of contact for all training matters for the branch

  • APS 6 Policy Officer

    We are seeking an experienced APS 6 Policy Officer to join a highly dynamic Federal Government department on a 3 month non-ongoing contract.

    The successful candidate will assist to varying degrees with providing policy advice and program support for initiatives that improve energy productivity of the residential building sector.

    Key tasks over the 3 month period will be:

  • Procurement of consultants and entering into agreements with State and Territory Governments to implement projects
  • Project management of a range of projects currently underway
  • Supporting other staff in providing briefing and documents to Committees and Executives
  • Significant stakeholder liaison with states, territories and industry on major projects and policy development

    This role will ideally be suited to someone who is:

  • Experienced in government processes such as procurement and contract management
  • A strong communicator with the ability to analyse available data and information

    To be successful in this position, you must have a current police check (no less than 3 months old). Previous experience at the APS 6 level is highly regarded.

This opportunity will see you working closely with the senior management team and across the agency to ensure programs are delivered on schedule and within budget.

    Working as the Project Manager, you will support the project scoping, development, implementation monitoring. Additionally you will be required to;

    Ideally, the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience delivering large scale reform in a Government context and will have formal Project Management qualifications.
