EL1-EL2 Program and Project Managers – Geelong

We are looking for a number of experienced EL1-EL2 Program and Project Managers for a large contract commencing mid-June 2018.

As a Program and Project Manager, your role is to plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of the specific Project/Program you are working on (including monitoring and managing progress reporting).

The successful candidates will have:

  • Previous experience leading teams within a legislated environment
  • Extensive experience as a Project and/or Program Manager
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain networks
  • Strong analytical and research skills


  • Formal Project/Program Management Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large scale reform in a Government context

    Entry level checks will be required for all successful candidates and the appropriate working with children and/or vulnerable people checks may need to be undertaken as per State Legislation.

  • APS4 Ministerial/ Parliamentary Officers

    Our client, a Commonwealth government department is seeking experienced Ministerial/ Parliamentary officers at the APS4 level. These roles are being offered for an immediate start until 30 June 2018 with a strong possibility of a long term extension.

    Duties include:

  • Register correspondence in timely manner and liaise with Business Areas to coordinate responses.
  • Assist departmental staff as required in procedures and processes relating to Ministerial Correspondence.
  • Manage and undertake the process of despatch of Ministerial Correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the monitoring of work area inbox.

    You will have strong administrative and communication skills.

  • APS 5 Program Officer

    Our client, a Commonwealth Government Department is seeking a Program Officer to undertake a variety of administration functions.

    This contract is for 6 months.

    Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in:

  • Contribution to program administration/management
  • Preparing briefing and advice for Executive and Ministerial consideration
  • Writing Ministerial correspondence
  • Drafting media and communications material
  • Use of Excel
  • Working under limited direction

  • APS4-6 Project Officer

    Our client, a Commonwealth government department is seeking an experienced Project Officer at the APS4-6 level, dependent on experience. The role is being offered for an immediate start until November 2018.

    The key duties of the role is to provide a range of administrative functions including:

  • Procurement and management of period maintenance and services contracts;
  • Provision of contract management advice;
  • Management of routine business relating to internal information systems;
  • Routine support to the coordination of travel and accommodation; and
  • Minor projects as required.

    The successful candidate will need to possess the following skills:

  • Experience with procurement and contract management
  • Experience in providing procurement policy advice, or practical procurement experience
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal), including capacity to build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders
  • Well- developed research and analytical skills.

    You will possess the ability to initiate work with minimal supervision and undertake interstate travel as required. The key challenge in this role will be providing procurement and contract management support to State and Regional Managers in various locations around Australia.

  • APS4/5 Payroll Officers

    An exciting opportunity exists for APS 4/5 Payroll Officers to join a busy government department located in Canberra. This position will be offered for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of an extension.

    You will have a considerable level of stakeholder contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues, demonstrated knowledge and experience in payroll and processing and highly developed verbal and written communication skills.


  • Support the timely delivery of pay and allowances for staff.
  • Reconciliation of payroll services and integrity checks for the pay run process.
  • Provide specialist professional and technical advice relating to remuneration and entitlements.
  • Contribute to key projects such as the rollout of Aurion 11

    Experience with Aurion and a current Baseline Security Clearance is highly desirable.

  • APS 5/6 Grants Assessment

    Our client, a Commonwealth Government department is seeking an experienced Grants Assessment Officer at the APS5 or 6 level depending on skills and/ or experience. The role is being offered for an immediate start until end of July 2018 with possible extension.

    You will have demonstrated experience in assessing large volume of grant applications (or similar) with strong analytical skills.

    Key duties will include:

  • Assess grant applications in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. This will require you to read large amounts of information and summarise it using plain and simple English.
  • Quickly learn program policies, assessment procedures and how to use an IT database.
  • Act in accordance with the Australian Public Service Code of Conduct. This work will require you to maintain strict confidentiality about information held by government.
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment. You must also be able to communicate clearly with departmental officers and other staff working in the section.

    Previous experience assessing grants in a federal government department would be highly regarded.
