APS 6 Project Officer Support/Secretariat

Our government client is seeking an APS 6 Project Officer for a 6 month contract with the possibility of a 9 month extension.

Duties include:

  • Responsible for the organisation and running of key events, ensuring all meetings are documented, outcomes are distributed to relevant stakeholders
  • Maintenance of the industry risk register to identify and communicate key supply chain risks and assist in developing mitigation activities.
  • Leading and managing the database and company profiles, including quality management,
  • Responsible for ensuring the delivery of agreed outcomes from meetings between the team and members
  • Providing additional support to the Manager and Capabilities Manager.
  • Some additional tasks may be required of the position which are not listed above.

    To be successful in this role you will possess a strong level of writing and editing skills, well-developed database management skills and demonstrated ability to establish a portfolio management and project delivery function. You must also have a high level of stakeholder management and liaison skills, including experience working with government stakeholders.

    A Project Management qualification and working knowledge of the Australian Defence sector is highly desirable.

  • APS 6 Communications and Media Officer

    Our Federal Government client, based in Tuggeranong, is seeking an experienced Communications professional at the APS6 level for a 3 month contract with a possible extension.

    As part of a busy team, you will be required to balance competing priorities and to work with a broad range of stakeholders, both within the Department and external stakeholders. You will have good judgement and relationship skills, and be able to assist in Communication and Media enquiries.

    You will have relevant policy experience, understand the needs of highly sensitive and diverse clients, possess excellent communication and analytical skills, and project management skills. You will be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, flexibility and strategic thinking, and embrace the challenges of working in a complex environment. APS experience would be of advantage.

  • APS6 Grant Design and Coordination Officer

    We are currently working with our well-known Federal Government client to recruit an APS 6 in the Client Engagement and Design Section who will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Coordinate and support the development of grant rounds while facilitating relationships with clients
  • Liaise with central agencies to finalise and obtain approval of grant documentation
  • Support client agencies in driving and maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, policy and guidelines
  • Offer support and advice during NPP development and the pre-design phase
  • Develop Forecast Opportunities to indicate potential Grant Opportunities
  • Facilitate Program Design sessions
  • Provide advice to client agencies in line with the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Guidelines and other grants legislation
  • Provide assurance that Design services comply with legislative obligations

    Candidates that will be highly sought after will possess:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working in a complex and high change management area
  • Expertise across the government grants program lifecycle and/or management with an understanding of the Shared Services environment and the Whole Of Government grants reform would be advantageous
  • Experience with grant management systems, e.g. FOFMS, Data Exchange, Qlik, SAP
  • Ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team environment, to deliver high quality work within deadlines utilising very strong time management and organisational skills.

  • APS 4 Protective Security Adviser

    Our client, a Federal Government department based in Barton Canberra, is looking for an energetic, corporate minded and task orientated individual to deliver positive protective security outcomes. This opportunity is offered on contractual basis till 30 June 2019.

    Duties will include but aren’t limited to:

  • Providing protective security advice (personnel, physical and information security) to departmental staff enquiries through telephone and email.
  • Processing protective security tasks, including pre-employment screenings, security clearance maintenance, providing building access passes.

  • APS4 Executive Assistant – Baseline Clearance

    SOS Recruitment is currently recruiting an experienced Executive Assistant. This opportunity will be offered on an initial 13 week hourly rate contract commencing ASAP.

    Working as the Executive Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth management and organisation of the Executives’ office, using excellent judgement to identify, delegate and escalate priorities as they arise. Your duties may include;

  • Extensive diary and inbox management – prioritisation of email correspondence, coordination of meeting requests including room bookings, invites and agendas for meetings and appointments.
  • Co-ordinate preparation of high quality written presentations, ministerial briefs, submissions and letters for the Executive, including drafting some material.
  • Co-ordinate travel; including flight and accommodation booking, travel allowances and reimbursements.
  • Develop and maintain effective, professional relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage finances; including credit card reconciliations, payment of invoices, purchase orders and financial reports. Using excellent judgement, establish and manage requests for information and escalate priorities.

  • APS 5/APS 6 Policy Officer – NV1 Security clearance

    Our client, a Federal Government department based in Canberra’s North, is seeking an APS 5 or APS 6 Policy Officer to join their team on a contract basis for a period of 6 months.

    The successful candidate will ideally have experience working in a policy area or experience working within legislative frameworks. While a legal qualification is not mandatory, candidates with legal skills or qualifications would be well suited to this position.

    Some of the duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Casework – the review of complex applications.
  • Developing policy papers and provide legal/policy advice regarding new proposals
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders

    Our Government client is seeking an experienced APS6 Departmental Officer commencing immediately for an initial 3 month contract with a possible extension until June 2020

    Duties include but not limited to:

  • Provide support in the management of the planning, organising, control, and coordination of Departmental policy advice and strategic planning
  • Contribute to the preparation of budget and high level executive briefings
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and committees, as required, to ensure that key health outcomes are achieved
