APS 6 Senior Capability Design and Development Officer

12 month contract with the possibility of extension | Geelong VIC Location | Hourly rate of $51.50 plus superannuation

Our well known Federal Government client is currently seeking a contractor to join their Geelong office. Within this role, you will be responsible for identifying and designing learning programs that support the Departments’ desired outcomes. You will regularly liaise with other senior colleagues and subject matter experts to identify appropriate solutions in order to reach the desired outcomes.

Your responsibilities will also include;

  • Consulting with a range of stakeholders and supporting the development of training content that support best practice
  • Providing recommendations and developing solutions for a range of capability design and development activities
  • Providing a high level of instructional design capability in the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning solutions
  • Developing and monitoring training packages
  • Undertaking procurement and coordination of training programs when required
  • Identifying, coordinating and managing training content and delivery by external stakeholders as required
  • Managing and coaching less senior staff, providing expert and strategic advice and support
  • Representing the Department at learning and development forums and events

    To be successful, you will possess;

  • Demonstrated experience in the design and development of a range of learning and development programs in a corporate setting
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and mentor team members where appropriate
  • An understanding of relevant contemporary technology such as Webinar/Virtual Classroom software and eLearning tools would be an advantage

    Experience in a similar role in a government context would be highly advantageous.

    Our client is seeking candidates with a strong background in community services, assessing, identifying client’s support needs and facilitating access to support options.

    Key responsibilities will include:

  • Stakeholder engagement with a diverse range of clients
  • Assessing applications for support services based on client needs and circumstances
  • Provide clients with timely information and referrals
  • Prepare written material related to assessments, resource allocation, decision making and other government requirements
  • Expectation management with clients dealing with crisis or complex situations

    Essential:

  • A current Working with Vulnerable People’ card will be essential
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, match and deliver services to a diverse client group who demonstrate high, complex and priority needs.
  • Strong written communication and record keeping skills
  • A current ‘Drivers Licence’ is also required.

  • APS4 – Policy and Data Analysis Officer

    3 month initial contract with high likelihood of extension | $42 per hour plus superannuation | Exciting opportunity for recent graduates

    Our high profile Federal Government client are currently looking to engage a recent graduate at the APS4 level, joining their team responsible for developing policy advice, undertaking analysis of research and designing policy responses for the Senior Executive team.

    Working as the Policy and Data Analysis Officer, you will be required to;

  • Assist in preparing, briefs, submissions and other written materials
  • Undertake fact checking and quality analysis cross the section
  • Undertake policy analysis and data analysis (under supervision) to inform policy advice
  • Assist the area with ad hoc tasks as required.

    To succeed in this role, you will have;

  • A positive attitude
  • A desire to learn with an interest in public policy
  • Good conceptual and analytical skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Intermediate or above knowledge utilising Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and reporting purposes

Ideally, we are seeking qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Economics, Econometrics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or similar.   • APS6 Policy/Project Officer

    Our Federal Government client is currently seeking multiple APS6 Policy/Project Officers to join their team on a contractual basis. The key function of this role will be to provide a range of high level policy and program support including the development of policy and legislative amendments and assist in project management.

    Your responsibilities will also include;

  • Assisting in policy development/legislative amendments
  • Managing communications, and responding to stakeholder enquiries
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, undertaking consultation and engagement
  • Preparing briefings, ministerial correspondence, and reports
  • Contributing to other tasks as required

    To be successful, you possess;

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to engage and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, with limited instruction or guidance
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, including ability to prioritise workload with competing requests and ensuring quality outcomes are achieved within set deadlines

    Experience with IT system development projects, project management or policy development plus experience in a similar role in a government context will be highly advantageous.
