APS5 Senior Tester

Our Federal Government Client is seeking an enthusiastic IT professional with excellent testing experience to work in a very small reporting team. The candidate will be writing test summaries, test scripts, maintaining test matrices, maintaining release register and executing tests.

The candidate should be able to come up to speed with minimal documentation or assistance. Should be a quick learner with the ability to grasp complex legal business rules. Any experience in working with the Legal System would be an advantage.

Description:

As a tester and member of a very small reporting team, your main task will be to test the report output that are produced from the Departments databases both running on SQL Server 2012 to meet the Department ad-hoc and formalised reporting needs. The new reports that you will be testing will be bridged from the 2 database systems. You should be able to come up with testing cases with minimal documentation or assistance.

In this role you will develop a good understanding of the Departments business, computing environment and the Database so that you can formulate the best way to develop and implement test cases.

The candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills

Duties:

  • Perform system, functionality, integration, regression testing and user acceptance testing;
  • Identify test requirements from acceptance criteria/ designs to mapping out test case requirements;
  • Prepare detailed test documentation (test plans and cases);
  • Create and maintain test data and test cases for functional, integration and regression testing of new and changed product functionalities;
  • Test execution;
  • Work independently and log issues into test reports

    Mandatory requirements:

  • Current baseline security clearance
  • Standard criminal history check

    Highly Desirable:

  • Database testing experience using SQL
  • ISEB or ISTQB Testing qualified (preferable)

    Qualifications and experience

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience testing in BI/ Data Warehouse / reporting teams
  • Strong oral /written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation in a small team
  • Quick learner with the ability to grasp complex ideas with little or minimal assistance

    Our high profile client is seeking to employ an experienced Project Secretariat Officer to join an established team responsible for shaping the policies surrounding waste management within Australia.
