EL1 Assistant Director (Design Policy and Support)

    Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an Assistant Director to join their established team responsible for Compliance Strategy and Support based in Canberra. This opportunity will be offered on a daily rate contract for an initial 12 month period with the potential to extend.

    Working as the Assistant Director, you will be require to contributes to the management, implementation and review of policies and processes to support legislative changes. You will lead initiatives to identify opportunities to build better practices in fraud prevention and compliance, and provide guidance and support to the Branch around management and escalation of compliance issues, accounting for applicable legislation, processes and procedures. You will be working under the general direction and support of the Director and have an APS6 reporting to you.

    Additional duties will include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of compliance related policies
  • Draft and interpret compliance related policy and procedural directions
  • Lead the preparation of policy documents for review and publication
  • Coordinate and prepare a range of written material including business cases, reports, executive briefs and corporate documentation
  • Contribute to strategic planning, work planning and management reporting for the Branch
  • Provide expert advice and procedural guidance in areas of compliance and fraud related policy and design
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes, design and policy within the Branch
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to staff to build knowledge and capability

    To be successful for this role it would be highly desirable to have experience working in the Human Services sector and experience in designing end to end compliance and enforcement standard operating models and associated reference material.

    Our Federal Government client are seeking an APS5 Funding Arrangement Manager to commence ASAP on an hourly rate contract through until December 2019.

    This role is responsible for supporting the planning, administration of funding arrangement management, assessing performance and identifying risks, issues and helping to develop relationships.

    With support from the Team Leader, the key responsibilities of the Funding Arrangement Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct high quality administration of performance assurance activities, ranging from moderate to high complexity
  • Assess funding recipient performance against program guidelines
  • Provide performance assurance by identifying gaps, risks and issues
  • Apply judgement to determine when escalation is required to help achieve resolution
  • Identify and contribute to policy, program and process improvements
  • Develop relationships with funding recipients
  • Record information obtained through engagements and other performance activities in corporate systems

    To succeed in the role, you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Experience working within a program setting (APS experience highly desirable)
  • Well-developed analytical, problem solving and research skills with the ability to apply legislation and policy in decision-making and in making sound judgements and recommendations.
  • Organisational skills and ability to plan and manage a range of tasks within given timeframes.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain key stakeholder relationships;
  • Ability to work effectively as a part of a team working collaboratively with demonstrated drive, flexibility and initiative.
  • Previous experience in grant management would be useful but not essential

    They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Drafter to join their Canberra based team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for producing mechanical designs in the form of models and drawings that support the product development and support the goals of the organisation. The role requires mechanical drafting knowledge plus the understanding design for manufacture, design for assembly and design for cost to ensure that designs produced are fit for purpose, producible and cost effective.

    You will be a detail oriented person who takes a practical approach to their work. You will have strong communication skills and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience within a multi-disciplinary team is highly desirable.

    Duties:

  • Produce mechanical design models and drawings that satisfy defined requirements within specified time frames
  • Prepare designs that account for design for manufacture, assembly and cost
  • Work with Mechanical Design Engineers to ensure that the design produced satisfy the defined requirements
  • Produce mechanical design models and drawings in accordance with defined quality and drafting standards
