APS 5 Recruitment Officer

    Our Federal Government client is seeking experienced APS 5 Recruitment Officers to join their busy team to assist with performing operational, analytical and procedural recruitment activities. The successful applicant will follow the defined HR policies practices and accepted precedents to achieve outcomes.

    As an APS 5 Recruitment Officer you may be required to lead a small operational team. You will need to be capable of reviewing the quality of work, providing feedback and identifying coaching opportunities.

    Your responsibilities:

  • Contributing to HR planning, project management and policy development
  • Assisting with research, analysis and identifying the appropriate action to resolve workforce and escalated HR issues and advising as required
  • Assisting with the development of the team plans and objectives for tasks, activities and initiatives
  • Monitoring and identifying emerging HR issues, anticipating problems and assisting with issue management
  • Assisting with the management of resources to achieve tasks for a project or activity

    Your background:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a human resource environment within the Australian Public Sector
  • Hold a current tertiary qualification or thorough experience in a HR, Onboarding or Recruitment role
  • You will have an understanding of core APS HR legislative, APSC policy and current Enterprise Agreement requirements
  • Good knowledge of relevant HR systems such as SAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

    Our Federal Government client is seeking an APS 3 Business Support Officer who is professional, enthusiastic and respectful to be the first point of contact for clients. You will be assisting with enquiries, reception duties and appointment/ scheduling processes.

    Your responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support to a large team
  • Booking and coordinating appointments, executive meetings and community forum
  • Booking all office travel and fleet management and managing credit card acquittals
  • Provide reception support including answering the telephones, emails and provide face to face enquiries
  • Provide information about the services the agency and community organisations can provide
  • Database management including entering customers details, recording communications and complaints

    Your background:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing reception or customer service duties in a corporate environment

  • APS5 Review Officer

    Our Federal Government client is currently seeking multiple APS5 Review Officers to join their teams in Geelong and Dandenong. The Review Case Officer will manage a portfolio of case reviews and will be required to review decisions that are made by the National Review Team (NRT) are subject to internal review within the Department. The Case Officers will examine all relevant documentation relating to a request for review and request further information where necessary. The Case Officer, as well as the Departmental Delegate, will develop a recommendation on a decision in response to the request, including collating the relevant supporting documentation and drafting reasons for the Departmental Delegate’s decision.

    Duties will include:

  • Analyse requests for review and categorise according to legislation
  • Contact stakeholders by telephone to clarify requests and obtain further evidence to support the request
  • Provide information on review process to affected stakeholders
  • Assess requests for review against legislative requirements and operational guidelines
  • Draft clear, concise and plain language decision letters in response to requests

    Working as the APS4 Assistant Contract Manager, your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Writing letters, writing reports, general correspondence (internally and externally)
  • Data entry
  • Compiling data and undertaking analysis
  • General administrative tasks/functions

    Our well-known Federal Government client is seeking an EL1 Finance Manager to join an established team responsible for delivering set outcomes across the Finance and Corporate Services Division's five core financial functions. These functions include financial accounting, management accounting, finance business partnering, financial analytics and scheme finance.

    Working as the EL1 Finance Manager, you will be required to;

  • Provide comprehensive and authoritative advice on specialist and very complex financial issues, planning, managing, and setting of the operational direction, anticipating and establishing priorities and monitoring progress.
  • Coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake very complex or sensitive finance projects or work programs that have strategic and/or operational significance to the Department.
  • Work with the strategic and functional areas to provide in-depth financial knowledge, advice and recommendations that ensure strategic initiatives and operational outcomes are achieved within budgetary allocation.
  • Assess, investigate and prioritise significant variances and risks to existing financial operating models, processes and procedures within the core financial functions; making decisions that resolve, correct and prevent continuation or reoccurrence.
  • Evaluate emerging problems and risks within the core finance functions; applying professional judgement to analyse, assess and interpret relevant and often-conflicting information to gain an understanding to provide solutions and recommendations.
  • Develop and manage relationships with stakeholders, engaging and collaborating to achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation, presenting the Finance and Corporate Services Divisions position in the context of very complex or sensitive finance issues.
  • Work collaboratively to negotiate and resolve a range of very complex, sensitive and contentious financial issues, requiring a consistent high degree of influence and advocacy.

    It is highly desirable that the successful candidate will possess relevant academic qualifications with membership to the Institute of Chartered Accountants (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) or other equivalent professional finance bodies (or holding equivalent finance related post graduate qualifications); together with extensive direct finance experience performing and delivering complex financial outcomes.

    Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Director at the EL2 level to oversee the Department’s Ministerial Liaison operations within their Canberra based team. The Ministerial Services team acts as a dedicated point of contact between the Minister’s Office and the client. This role entails a large component of liaison and engagement across the Department, Liaison Officers and Advisers. It requires a deep understanding of the ministerial process and how to respond effectively to the needs of the Ministers and Parliamentarians.

    Duties will include:

  • Establishing and maintaining efficient and effective Ministerial processes and productive relationships to maintain stakeholder confidence in the Department
  • Providing strategic advice and guidance and guidance to Departmental Executives and staff on ministerial and parliamentary processes
  • Assuring the quality and timeliness of ministerial responses and adding value to the preparation of advice to Ministers and the Departmental Executive

    To be successful for this role you will have substantial experience in managing ministerial and parliamentary, portfolio coordination or governance functions within a Commonwealth environment. You will have a deep understanding of Commonwealth parliamentary processes and conventions along with an understanding of the relationship between Commonwealth agencies, ministers and their offices.
