APS4 Equivalent – Payroll Officer - Chris 21

Our client is seeking an experienced Client Services Officer to join their busy payroll team. This is a 3 month non - ongoing contract with an immediate start.

To be successful in this position you will have proven ability to interpret and implement relevant workplace agreements, legislation and policy guidelines relating to people matters as well as experience in the use of human resource management systems and a wide range of IT applications.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Provide advice to departmental staff on a wide range of people matters.
  • Undertake action in respect of complex conditions of employment matters.
  • Maintain a variety of people records.
  • Prepare and check leave and salaries variations.
  • Prepare correspondence and liaise with clients regarding a wide range of issues.
  • Assist with other people strategies work and projects.

    Experience with Chris 21 is essential.


  • APS 3 Finance/Procurement – Baseline Clearance

    Our client, a high profile federal government department is seeking a strong finance and procurement candidate at the APS 3 level until 30 June 2018 with the possibility of long term extensions.

    The role will include undertaking general finance and administrative tasks including assisting with procurement processes and processing invoices.

    This is a security assessed position. Applicants must be an Australian citizen, with successful candidates holding a Baseline Australian Government security clearance and a willingness to undergo additional employment suitability checks.


    APS 6 Policy Officer - Baseline clearance

    Our client, a centrally based high profile government department is seeking an experienced Policy Officer at the APS 6 level until 30 June 2018 with the possibility of long term extensions.

    If you are seeking to contribute to government policy development this is an excellent opportunity for you. In order to be considered for this role applicants must be able to demonstrate their experience in the development, analysis and implementation of complex policy. There will be extensive liaison and negotiation with other government and international agencies.

    You will be required to:

  • Provide strategic advice and deliver briefings/responses on complex policy issues within tight time frames to the Executive, the Minister and for regional and international dialogues;
  • Coordinate and represent the Department at interdepartmental, cross-government and industry meetings, conferences and seminars;
  • Perform research and analyse information from a wide variety of sources to monitor emerging trends and explore new ideas in the development of legislative and policy initiatives;
  • Liaise widely and develop productive working relationships, within the Department and other Commonwealth agencies, overseas posts and international stakeholders;

    Previous experience with parliamentary writing such as cabinet submissions or contributing to large reports would be highly regarded. Candidates with post graduate education in areas such as economics or business administration will also be highly regarded.

  • ASO4 Payroll Clerk

    Our client, a north side based ACT department is seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk at the ASO4 level for 3-12 months.

    Job Description: Prepare payroll and related records for employee salaries and statutory record-keeping purposes.

    Key Tasks:

  • creating files for new employees to record payroll data
  • Updating employee record information such as employee contact details, leave taken, overtime, promotions, transfers, tax deductions, health insurance payments and superannuation
  • preparing payroll data from time sheets
  • processing payment of wages and salaries
  • issuing and recording adjustments to employees' pay
  • providing information to employees regarding matters such as tax issues, benefits and deductions
  • finalising files and arrangements when employees retire, resign or transfer
  • may be involved in maintaining superannuation and other deduction and contribution records

    Previous experience in a payroll environment is essential.

  • Project Manager

    Our client, a local government agency is seeking an experienced Project Manager at the SOGB level. The role is being offered for an immediate start for 2-3 months with the possibility of extension.

    This is a senior role that reports to the Director and requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously.

    Key duties will include:

  • Leading project planning sessions
  • Managing project progress and adapt work as required
  • Ensuring projects meet deadlines
  • Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation
  • Participating in tender process i.e. design, submission and review as well as designing risk mitigation plans
  • Conducting project review and creating detailed reports for executive staff

  • EL 1 Deputy Chief Finance Officer
