APS5/ 6 Grants Assessment

Our client, a Commonwealth Government department is seeking an experienced Grants Assessment Officer at the APS5 or 6 level depending on skills and/ or experience. The role is being offered for an immediate start until 30 June 2018 with possible extension.

You will have demonstrated experience in assessing large volume of grant applications (or similar) with strong analytical skills.

Key duties will include:

  • Assess grant applications in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. This will require you to read large amounts of information and summarise it using plain and simple English.
  • Quickly learn program policies, assessment procedures and how to use an IT database.
  • Act in accordance with the Australian Public Service Code of Conduct. This work will require you to maintain strict confidentiality about information held by government.
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment. You must also be able to communicate clearly with departmental officers and other staff working in the section.

    Previous experience assessing grants in a federal government department would be highly regarded.


  • APS 4 – Personnel Security Adviser – Security Clearance

    APS 4 – Personnel Security Adviser – Security Clearance

    Our client, a Federal Government department based centrally in Canberra, is looking for a Personnel/Security Adviser at the APS 4 level for a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension.

    Duties will include:

  • On-boarding and off-boarding of internal staff with security clearances
  • Monthly reporting of terminations
  • Monitor department email enquiries and construct responses
  • Overseas travel requests in Service now and inbox
  • PSF maintenance
  • Initials, upgrades and transfers of clearances (Baseline to NV2)
  • Providing advice to internal staff
  • Temporary access arrangements

    Previous government experience in a similar position would be highly regarded.

    This is a security assessed position. Applicants must be an Australian citizen, with successful candidate either holding or having the ability to obtain a Baseline Australian Government security clearance or undergo other employment suitability checks.


  • APS4 Executive Assistant

    Our client, a federal government Department is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant at the APS4 level. The role is commencing ASAP until 30 June 2018 with the possibility of extension.

    Key duties will include:

  • Diary management, email management and call screening
  • Preparation and coordination of a range of general and confidential written communications including correspondence
  • Travel/accommodation arrangements
  • Organising and coordinating meetings

    A community services agency is seeking an experienced Client Services Manager who has had previous experience in social policy, community issues or the not for profit sector. You must have the ability to demonstrate strong negotiation and problem solving skills, and empathy for clients dealing with complex and crisis situations.

    Specific duties include:

  • Client service visits
  • Routine property inspections
  • Monitor case plans
  • Provide input into planning and delivery of services
  • Prepare general correspondence and provide information and draft replies for responses to ministerial correspondence

    You must have a clean driving record and the vacancy is being offered for an initial 6 to 8 weeks with possibility of an extension. The hourly contract rate is around $37 plus superannuation and the role will commence ASAP.

    A current Working With Vulnerable People Check or the ability to obtain one is required for this position.


  • APS 6/EL 1 Policy Officer

    Our client, a high profile government department, is seeking experienced Policy Officers at the APS 6 and EL 1 levels for 7 months with the possibility of extension.

    The client is seeking experienced individuals with a high degree of initiative, strong organisational skills, analytical skills and communication skills. The positions will contribute to the development of policy solutions, and will involve consulting with relevant business areas to gather and analyse relevant information, prepare briefs for consideration by internal and external audiences as well as the preparation of Ministerial correspondence.

    Experience in policy development or implementation as well tertiary qualifications in human services, project management, finance, economics, law or business are highly desirable.
