Part time Payroll and Finance Officer

SOS Recruitment currently has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll and Finance Officer to join their office on a part-time basis. Working in a small, high performing team, you will be responsible for providing high level financial services within a fast-paced and reactive recruitment environment. In order to succeed, you will require exceptional communication and coordination skills and the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.

Duties include;

  • Processing of weekly payroll
  • Preparing and issuing invoices to clients
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Processing of accounts payable/receivable
  • Debt collection
  • Understanding of hourly rates and employment conditions and hours
  • Developing an understanding of general employment regulations/legislation in the private and public sectors
  • Developing an understanding of certified agreements
  • Providing general financial assistance, administrative and clerical support to the team
  • Other associated payroll and finance duties as required

    Attributes;

  • Excellent work ethic – reliability, commitment and dedication
  • An extremely high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent typing ability of 50 WPM or higher (or approximately 9000 numeric keystrokes)
  • High level team skills and understanding of team dynamics
  • Previous experience using MYOB AccountRight is highly regarded but not essential

    The ideal candidate will possess previous experience providing payroll or finance support in a similar corporate environment and/or be studying towards accounting qualifications.

  • APS5 Project Support Officer

    Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Project Support Officer at the APS5 level. Within this role, you will support in the delivery of the client management system project. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, initiative, good communication skills and be a team player.

    Your responsibilities;

  • Supporting in the development of technical documentation in relation to the client management system procurement and implementation project
  • Triaging of issues relating to the ICT integration
  • Reporting on technical delivery status, risk, issues, dependency management and mitigation strategies
  • Developing, maintaining and collaborating with stakeholders, especially those involved in the system delivery and consultation processes
  • Liaising with a range of high level of internal and external stakeholders

    To be successful in this position, you will possess;

  • 2+ years’ experience in a technical project officer or similar role
  • High level technical program support and reporting skills
  • Relevant experience within the Australian Public Service as well as an understanding of mental health services

  • APS 6 Senior Finance Officer

    Our Federal Government client is seeking two experienced APS 6 Senior Finance Officers to join their Woden office to undertake complex finance related work this is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.

    This position is a team membership position that may require you to perform team leadership and management responsibilities including setting priorities and managing workflow.

    Your responsibilities:

  • Perform various core finance functions which may include:
  • Financial accounting
  • Management accounting
  • Finance business partnering
  • Financial analytics
  • Scheme finance
  • Developing plans and objectives for finance projects
  • Monitoring emerging financial issues and identify risks and impacts
  • Develop recommendations and solutions to mitigate, correct and prevent reoccurring financial risks
  • High level of stakeholder contact with the ability to be a representative for the branch
  • Assisting with the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that supports the organisations objectives

    Your background:

  • Demonstrated experience in working within a Senior Finance Officer position within the Federal Government
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, procedures, standards and methodologies to anticipate problems and contribute to issue management
  • Completed a tertiary level qualification in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
  • Possess membership of CA, CPA or other equivalent professional finance bodies
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience

    Our Federal Government client is currently seeking experienced Scrum Masters to join their office to assist with the delivery of digital services and experiences. Working in a multidisciplinary team, you will lead digital transformation projects from start to finish.

    Your responsibilities will include;

  • Coaching a team to take responsibility for their actions and deploy agile values, principles and practices
  • Ensuring continuous improvement in software quality
  • Supporting team self-processes and promoting continuous learning
  • Facilitating regular team meetings and agile ceremonies, including daily stand up, planning, demonstrations and retrospectives

    To be successful in this position, you will possess;

  • Proven experience in leading high performance, self-managed and dynamic teams as a Scrum Master lead
  • Proven experience in managing the planning, implementation and successful agile delivery of one of more complex projects
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with a strong focus on building relationships with stakeholders

    Experience using Azure DevOps and/or Jira Align for Agile Methodology plus demonstrated Agile Delivery experience on both SAFe and PRINCE2 projects would be highly regarded.

    Our Federal Government client, Open Arms – Veterans & Families Counselling are seeking several APS 6 Intake Clinicians to join their Client Assist Contact Centre. As an Intake Clinician, you will be providing intake assessment and triage services, clinical support and service quality assurance.

    Your responsibilities:

  • Triaging and coordinating intakes and referral to the regions for allocation to services including referrals of individuals, couples, families and complex and potentially high-risk cases escalated to Open Arms via several referral pathways
  • Ensuring effective and efficient intake for clients requesting Open Arms counselling, group and case management services
  • Provide telephone intervention to clients in distress who may require immediate clinical support
  • Ensuring escalated cases are identified and promptly triaged
  • Ensuring risk assessment and safety planning is completed during intake calls and appropriate follow up action taken
  • Complete record-keeping and documentation regarding management of intakes identified risk cases
  • Ensuring compliance with Open Arms clinical practice policy

    Your background:

  • Seeking health and allied health professionals with substantial mental health experience including Psychologists, Social Workers, Nurses etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex mental health clinical service delivery, including intake, triage and risk assessment
  • Must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA) or a social worker accredited with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Hold or able to obtain a Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance

    The successful candidate will need to be willing to do overnights, weekends and weekday hours up to 37.5 hour per week. There is also a requirement that all new starters do a minimum of 20 hours per week once they have finished their 3 week training.
