APS 5 Case Officers & APS 6 Team Leaders – Australia Wide

Our client is looking for a number of APS 5 Case Officers and APS 6 Team Leaders with positions located in many regional and metropolitan centers all over Australia for a large contract commencing mid-June 2018.

The ideal candidates will have:

  • A background in the community or disability sectors.
  • A good understanding of insurance principles.
  • For the APS 6 level, previous experience in leading and managing teams is essential.
  • Previous experience in reasoning and consistent decision making using critical analysis

    This is an excellent opportunity to work within the Government and to be a support and mentor to not only internal staff but also to customers and the community.

  • APS 5 Physical Security Adviser - Security Clearance

    APS 5 Physical Security Adviser

    Our client, a Federal Government department based on the south side of Canberra, is looking for a Physical Security Adviser at the APS 5 level for a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension.

    Duties will include:

  • Provide specialised advice and information to internal/external stakeholders
  • Providing support and assisting in projects
  • Conduct protective security site reviews
  • Prepare correspondence and provide specialised security advice to stakeholders
  • Promote protective security within the department
  • Report on protective security related issues
  • Train and mentor an APS 4 level staff member within the security team.

    Previous government experience in a similar position would be highly regarded.

    This is a security assessed position. Applicants must be an Australian citizen, with successful candidate either holding or having the ability to obtain a Baseline Australian Government security clearance or undergo other employment suitability checks.


  • Multiple Positions – APS 5, APS 6 and EL1

    We are seeking a number of contractors at the APS 5, APS 6 & EL1 level to join our client on a contract basis until 30 June 2018 with a possible 3 month extension.

    APS 5 duties including but not limited to:

  • Develop plans and objectives for short-term tasks of the work area
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on policy, project or operational issues

    APS 6 duties including but not limited to:

  • Preparation of complex briefing and ministerial correspondence
  • Applying subject matter expertise in areas such as legislation, financial and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes and agency guidelines and regulations.
  • Assisting in strategic planning, program and project management and/or policy development for the work area.

    EL1 Assistant Director duties including but not limited to:

  • Managing and setting the direction of the work of staff within the team
  • Representing the Department in forums, meetings and consultations where required.
  • Preparing complex ministerial submissions, correspondence and departmental briefings
  • Engaging and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders

    The successful candidates will have previous experience in project/policy management, case management, event or training coordination and data analysis. Ideally candidates will have extensive research, legislation and financial expertise and be available to commence immediately.

  • APS 5 Finance Coordination Officer

    APS 5 Finance Coordination Officer

    Our client, a Commonwealth government department is seeking an experienced Financial Coordination Officer at the APS5 level. This role is being offered for an immediate start for a 6 month contract with the possibility of an extension.

    Duties include:

    • Monitor budgets, analyse data and produce reports on expenditure.

    • Provide administrative support for procurement and payment activities.

    • Coordinate and manage input for annual financial statements, questions on notice, question time briefs and annual report as required.

    • Assist in monitoring the Business Support mailbox and manage incoming requests for information as required.

    • Participate in the coordination and work planning of the section, including establishing priorities and managing resources.

    Previous Government experience at the APS 5 level would be an advantage.


    APS5 Project Officer

    Our centrally based Government client is seeking an experience Project Officer until September 2018 with the possibility to extend.

    This position is responsible for the coordination and program management of a range of programs. High level project management, time management and initiative are required to manage stakeholders and contractors to successfully deliver programs.

    Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Project management and administration tasks for the team, including large mail outs
  • Initiate and manage projects for the branch Portal and support content development for the website
  • Research and prepare ministerial correspondence including briefings, submissions and general correspondence
  • Liaison with external contractors to deliver complex projects
  • Knowledge or experience, or ability to gain knowledge quickly, in the use of Travel Requisition and Claim System (TRACS) as well as high level skills in MS Word, including mail merge functions

    Experience with RFT’s and contracts as well as managing meetings and conferences would be highly regarded.

    Australian citizenship is essential for this position.


  • EL2 Director, Provider and Markets (Western Australia)

    Our client, an independent statutory authority, is responsible for delivering a National Scheme which supports a better life for Australians with significant and permanent disability.

    They are seeking an experience Director for their Provider and Markets Division based in Western Australia for a contract starting ASAP to continue through to June 2020, with a possibility of extension.

    The Director, Provider and Markets is responsible for engaging with providers, peak bodies and industry representatives through a newly designed relationship management model, and delivering activities that increase participant access to supports by enabling provider entry into markets, with a particular focus on thin markets.

    You will:

  • Be a strong change manager, communicator and strategic thinker who builds trust and respect.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders including State and Local Government, providers, and peak bodies to address transition challenges related to operating within the scheme and the development of the provider market.
  • Have proven relationship management and engagement experience, communication, organisational and management skills.
  • Be able to work in partnership across all work areas to ensure that participant outcomes through quality supports is at the forefront of everything you do.
  • Build strong effective relationships between internal and external stakeholders to ensure provider satisfaction and sentiment is achieved in order to facilitate development of the supplier market.

    Experience working in the Disability or Community sectors will be highly regarded.

  • APS 6 Senior Project Officer – Geelong

    We are looking for a Senior Project Officer at the APS 6 level for a 6 month contract commencing immediately based in Geelong, Victoria.

    As a Senior Project Officer you may be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development of detailed project and implementation plans and adhere to a project management framework associated with risks, milestones, interdependencies and status reporting and review;
  • Identify and monitor risks, develop mitigation strategies and escalate issues
  • Perform independent research and analysis to develop innovative solutions
