Teachers Aide

Our client, a private IT firm based in South Canberra, is looking for a Teacher’s Aide to assist and support the head teacher with the delivery of training plans.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, designing and implementing curriculum.
  • Assist with policy writing and developing training materials.
  • Provide assistance in preparing lesson plans.
  • Deliver instruction in the absence of lead teacher.
  • Maintain student records and perform other clerical tasks.

    Essential

  • APS 4 Finance/Assessing Officer

    Our high profile Federal Government client based in South Canberra is looking for APS 4 Officers to join their team on a contract basis until 30 June 2019.

    You will be working in a team responsible for developing and implementing the enforcement related tools associated with new biosecurity legislation.

    Key duties for this position include:

  • Analysing and assessing infringement notices to ensure they have been issued correctly

    Our client, a high profile not for profit organisation associated with the health industry is seeking a Senior Policy Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis.

    The Senior Policy Adviser will provide policy advice and undertake a range of tasks in respect of the issues managed by the team, including but not limited to health service, financing, safety and quality, private health insurance and aspects of digital and mental health.

    Some of the duties required for the role will be to:

  • Conduct high-level research and in-depth analysis on issues to advance policy on behalf of members, the medical profession and community.
  • Produce high quality briefs, background papers, policy and position statements, submissions and reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Respond to written and verbal inquiries from members, the public and other organisations in a timely and professional manner.

  • EL1 Grants Project Administrator – 12 month contract

    Our Federal Government client, based in Canberra City, is seeking an experienced Grants Project Administrator for a 12 month contract.

    The Research Grant Administrator will be responsible for providing financial and administrative advice and support services in areas such as project development, implementation and monitoring as applied to a wide-variety of projects/Externally Funded Programs (EFPs) and throughout the life-cycle of projects/EFPs.

    This role is also responsible for the preparation of project approval documents as well as all project related legal documents and to review financial reports and invoices to determine appropriate amounts of payments. In addition, the Research Grant Administrator plays a coordination role for projects/EFP travel-related activities.

    The Research Grant Administrator will ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with Department standards, policies and procedures and ensure the effective and efficient stewardship of resources.

    Our Federal Government client, is seeking three APS5 contractors to start from 4 April 2019 to 31 December 2019.

    The three roles are as follows:

    APS5 Policy and Compliance Officer

    This role will support a team responsible for:

  • Development of human biosecurity policy and procedures covering people, ships and seaports, aircraft and airports
  • Legislative amendments to the Biosecurity Act 2015 to support human biosecurity policy
  • Implementation of, and compliance with, international organisations and obligations
  • Implementing new national guidelines for yellow fever vaccination accreditation and an online learning module
  • Assist in the development of human biosecurity public communication material, and assisting in preparedness for and response to emergencies and incidents, including being part of the National Incident Room workforce and duty/watch officer roles.

    APS5 Operations Support Officer

  • This role will provide a key support function to the operations and readiness of the National Incident Room (NIR), including IT operations.
  • It will provide capacity for the NIR team to ensure the physical and IT assets of the NIR are maintained appropriately for use at any time without notice.
  • In addition this role will assist with response activities and Watch Officer duties, as well as supporting the training and real-time support of Watch Officers on shift, and contributing to standard operating procedures.
  • It will also assist the NIR Team to manage the back-log of incidents archived under the previous Incident Management System (IMS) as well as providing an important quality assurance mechanism to new and ongoing incident responses.

    APS5 Secretariat Support This role will oversee the Secretariat functions of the Department’s committee including:

  • Preparation and coordination of input to agendas, agenda papers and briefings as well as minutes and actions-arising
  • Coordination of pre-briefings and post-meeting discussions with chairs and relevant members of the Executive.
  • Tracking committee budgets
  • Developing strategic committee documents as required.

  • Senior Data Analyst – 12 month contract

    Our Federal Government client, based in Tuggeranong, is seeking a Senior Data Analyst for a 12 month contract.

    As part of the Data Exchange Reporting and Analytics section, the Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the data and process development required to embed best-practice in client-focussed reporting and analytic services, with an initial focus on data development and building models for predicative analysis of DEX data for use in policy development.

    Under broad direction, the Senior Data Analyst will:

  • Undertake data profiling to build a comprehensive understanding of the quality of DEX data and to determine the suitability of the data set for various reporting purposes
  • Facilitate the curation of linked datasets by integrating diverse data from various internal and external sources
  • Design, develop, implement, deploy, test and evaluate statistical and machine learning models to identify patterns, predict outcomes and provide actionable insights across DEX data and linked datasets
  • Work closely with the operational reporting team to create useful, scalable and sustainable analytic reporting solutions
  • Work with IT development and operations teams to build robust, sustainable and adaptable analytics and platforms and tools to support agency initiatives
  • Undertake quality assurance processes to advise DEX senior executive on data quality issues, opportunities for improvements in data collection and data governance decisions
  • Communicate with stakeholders, promoting the concepts of analytics and machine learning capabilities and how it can be applied to achieve whole of government outcomes.

    The successful applicant will have:

  • Strong inter-personal and team work skills, and proven ability to be self-motivated
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Prefer Graduate qualifications in data science (machine learning, artificial intelligence) or a related field e.g. applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, or equivalent industry experience.
  • A track record in delivering data science solutions to improve business outcomes using a range of machine learning, graph analytics, privacy preserving computing, forecasting and data visualisation techniques
  • Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.
  • Excellent programming skills. Experience with one or more of the following: R, Python, Scala
  • Strong skills in data wrangling with complex datasets (SQL, Spark)
