SOG C Senior Policy Adviser

Our client, a local ACT Government Department is seeking a Senior Policy Adviser for a 9-month contract.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop a strategy and implement a review of current compliance and enforcement mechanisms
  • Prepare policy advice, briefings and correspondence for the Ministers
  • Build strong relationships with key internal/external stakeholders
  • Actively participate in the analysis of business practices and procedures with a specific focus on continuous improvement and the achievement of operational and customer service excellence.

    Successful applicants will possess the following skillset:

  • Sound policy or program experience;

  • EL1 Cost Recovery Manager

    We are seeking an experienced candidate at the EL1 level for a 3-4 month contract position commencing immediately.

    Duties:

  • Provide specialist advice to the Group Executive on activity costs, revenue costs, pricing issues and pricing design
  • Development and maintenance of the departments cost recovery policy, costing methodology & activity structure
  • Preparation of Cost Recovery Implementation Statements
  • Ministerial correspondence

    Essential requirements:

  • Experience in activity based costing work and cost recovery design (pricing)
  • Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of the Commonwealth’s Cost Recovery Guidelines
  • Demonstrated understanding of Australian risk based regulatory framework for therapeutic goods
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
  • High level of written and oral communication skills

    The successful candidate must have previous or current experience at the EL1 level and a CPA or CA membership or a degree in accounting would be an advantage. For the right candidate, a longer term contract or Section 26 transfer may be considered.

  • APS 6 Business Planning Officer – Geelong

    Our client, a Federal Government agency, is seeking an experienced Business Planning Officer to support the Enterprise Planning team to develop, maintain and monitor the Corporate Plan and Divisional Business Plans. This role is a contract until 30 June 2019.

    You will bring to this role demonstrated experience in the successful execution of business planning frameworks, methodologies, processes and reporting. You will have strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. You will encourage open dialogue with the team to ensure information is exchanged and shared regularly.

    As a Business Planning Officer, you will:

  • Build business planning capability across the business by engaging and working with subject matter experts, implementing frameworks and tools against established practices and processes (including but not limited to Change Management, Finance, ICT, Risk Management and People and Culture).
  • Contribute to the development of an annual performance report representing status of Business Plan performance indicators committed by Group and Division as required under the relevant Acts.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of business planning tools and support documents for application by the business.
  • Contribute to the preparation of formal briefs and reports specific to the status of enterprise wide business planning performance reporting, improvements and readjustments of priority projects.

    Experience working in the Disability or Community Services sector is highly desirable.

    Key responsibilities:

  • Provide regulatory compliance support as required in the enforcement of Australian’s therapeutic goods legislation.
  • Undertake data entry and information searches on advertising compliance activities.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding enquires and complaints.
  • Record keeping on actions undertaken during advertising complaint investigations.
  • Maintaining sound records and information management approaches and contributing to procedures and systems development (eg. TRIM, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

    Essential requirements:

  • Experience with IT systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes applications, TRIM electronic document management and Microsoft Dynamics 365.

  • Experience in government regulatory, legal or compliance environments

    Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations / Compliance or similar qualifications.

    Essential requirements:

  • Experience or understanding of the regulation of therapeutic goods in Australia, including the provisions relevant to the advertising of therapeutic goods.
  • Experience in interpreting statutory provisions.
  • Strong investigative, analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and liaison skills

    Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline from an Australian tertiary institution or equivalent overseas institution.
  • Qualifications or training in regulatory compliance (eg. Certificate IV – Government Investigation/Compliance).
  • Sound knowledge of the legislation and policy frameworks relevant to the regulation of therapeutic goods.
