EL1/EL2 Project Manager

SOS Recruitment is currently working with a high profile, federal government client who are seeking multiple Project Managers to oversee all aspects of initiatives that are rolling out across the nation. This opportunity will see you working closely with the senior management team and across the agency to ensure programs are delivered on schedule and within budget.

Working as the Project Manager, you will support the project scoping, development, implementation monitoring. Additionally you will be required to; • Manage the effective governance of the project and ensure appropriate evaluation of progress, and quality; • Supervise program activities and resources to deliver agreed outputs; • Work within an agreed framework and manage multiple priorities while maintaining high work standards and accuracy; • Build and manage collaborative relationships to support effective communications; • Perform research and analysis to determine solutions; • Develop and implement schedules to ensure workforce coverage and manage project estimation; • Maintain project artefacts to assure integrity of the project.

To succeed in this role, you will possess; • Proven experience leading teams and the ability to mentor and guide in a collaborative and transparent manner; • Experience in a legislated and regulatory environment; • Have outstanding communication skills and the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders with confidence and ease; • Ability to manage service delivery performance • Analytical skills to draw on research, evidence and performance reports to influence improved service delivery; • Ability to prioritise and deliver on competing and urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience delivering large scale reform in a Government context and will have formal Project Management qualifications.

This opportunity will be offered for an initial 6 month period with extension options.

APS 6 Senior Learning Designer - 6 Months

Work for a large Federal Government Client as a Learning Designer to undergo research, consultation, scoping, analysis, design blueprints, and drafting of learning specifications.

If you have a Learning Design background and have experience at the APS 5 or 6 level this may be your next opportunity.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Support the delivery of learning program pilots

  • EL1 Assistant Director – Internal Audit

    Our client, a Federal Government agency based in Melbourne, is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to support the Audit Directors and Chief Internal Auditor to deliver all audit requirements for the agency as directed by the Board and senior management.

    This role is accountable for planning, co-ordinating and delivering detailed, complex, technical or sensitive audit projects that impact on strategic or operational outcomes for the Agency. The duties include:

  • Providing advice to Agency staff and management on auditing matters.
  • Effective use of auditing systems and processes.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on auditing matters.
  • Perform internal audits in compliance with The International Professional Practices Framework and internal methodologies.
  • Assisting the Chief Internal Auditor scope and conduct investigations and report findings.
  • Communicate and negotiate audit findings with management.
  • Increase Agency-wide awareness and education of auditing functions.
  • Supporting the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) in their investigations and requests.
  • Supporting the Agency corporate plan and strategic programs.
  • Review and prepare papers and reports, discuss findings with stakeholders, and provide guidance and development to others in the preparation of internal audits
  • Interpret and comply with internal auditing standards, policies, strategies, and business/team plans and apply and promote relevancy to work activities performed in the work area

    Ideally you will have:

  • Extensive experience in internal audits, preferably in Government or Financial Services.
  • Appropriate internal audit qualifications, e.g. CIA (preferred, if not there will be an expectation to obtain it), CISA, etc.
  • Supervision/coaching experience
  • High level competency in consistently applying internal audit methodologies and practices to meet client’s needs.
  • Competency with IT & auditing systems.

  • EL1 Assistant Director – Finance Business Partnering

    We are seeking an EL1 Assistant Director to join the finance team of a Federal Government department on a contract until November 2019.

    The successful candidate will hold responsibility for aspects of management reporting matters for the department. You will be required to implement the adopted Commonwealth financial assurance and compliance frameworks, including providing support and advice to staff and executive management.

    Some of the duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the business unit with the planning, preparation, execution and monitoring of the internal expense budget

    Please note: Graphic design skills are essential to be considered for this role. The successful candidate will possess the ability to run projects with little to no supervision - from taking a project brief through planning, design and the production of finished, press-ready artwork.
