APS6 Work Health and Safety Advisor

Our well known Federal Government client is currently seeking an APS6 Work Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a contractual basis. Within this role, you will be accountable for undertaking a range of procedural, operational, governance and administrative activities to support in the development and implementation of integrated people policies, practices and processes in relation to the safety and management of employee health.

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Providing WHS advice to staff and managers, including interpreting and applying legislation, policy and procedures and advising management on best practice WHS processes
  • Implementing the WHS Management System, including developing and implementing policies and procedures, preparing all staff communications and contributing to the development of learning and development materials
  • Managing and providing advice on incident responses
  • Undertaking and/or reviewing hazard and risk assessments
  • Supporting a safety culture, including sharing own expertise, providing guidance and developing WHS communications
  • Undertaking continuous improvement of internal WHS processes to maintain compliance with new legislative and policy requirements
  • Maintaining the WHS records, including incident and investigation records

    To be successful, you will possess;

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide a mentor role within the team
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines
  • Sound judgement and decision making skills
  • Formal qualifications in WHS and or safety related disciplines combined with significant relevant experience in a government context would be highly regarded
  • Relevant qualifications in safety investigation systems such as ICAM (Incident, Cause, Analysis Methodology) would also be highly regarded Previous experience in a WHS role in a Federal Government department would be highly regarded.

    Our high profile Federal Government client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Communications and Media Relations Officer at the APS5 level. Working in this role, you will be a part of a high performing team and work directly with the CEO and Minister Offices to assist in the development of and approach to marketing and communication initiatives that support new product launches, services and events. This team is also responsible for managing all internal and external communications including ministerial liaison, digital channels and media relations.

    Working as the Communications and Media Relations Officer, you will be responsible for generating positive media stories relating to new product launches and public programs, coordinating and managing media launches, and assisting with corporate communications activities including ministerial requests and liaison.

    Your responsibilities will also include;

  • Manage the Department’s relationship with mainstream media
  • Proactively generate positive media stories relating to new product launches and public programs

You will be responsible for providing development and support in the form of documentation, training and e-learning modules.

    Your responsibilities will include;

  • Evaluating eLearning needs of the department to ensure relevant training is delivered within applicable legislative and regulatory guidelines.
  • Reviewing and restructuring training where applicable.
  • Coordinating the allocation and application of eLearning resources to ensure training programs are delivered within specific timeframes.
  • Delivering eLearning and online programs to departmental staff.
  • Assisting with complex administrative support and advice across eLearning and online development matters.
  • Coordinating and conducting post-training evaluations including provision of feedback to designers and presenters on content delivered.
  • Engaging with high level vendors to improve quality of training.

    To be successful for this position, you will have the following;

  • Demonstrated experience and proven ability to perform in an eLearning Coordinator role.

  • Demonstrated experience in a Learning and Development based role within the Federal Government sector.

    Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an APS4/5 equivalent Assistant Financial Accountant to join their team. You will be a highly committed individual who will be joining the Financial and Assets Accounting Team. You will be a part of a small team and will report to the Financial and Assets Accounting Finance Team Leader. To be successful in this role you will have a high level of accuracy with strong communication and collaboration skills. PLEASE NOTE: A Baseline Security Clearance is required for this position.

    Duties will include:

  • Fixed assets register maintenance, including assets valuations, stock take and regular transactions processing
  • General accounting and administrative duties including month end processes, reporting, monthly accruals, depreciation schedules, project settlement and reconciliations
  • Build effective working relationship with the project teams and other business areas to ensure all policies, procedures and processes are in line with the Department’s overall accounting policies
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements disclosures
  • Provide support to internal and external audit processes
  • Provide advice and technical accounting support reporting DPS fixed assets

    Skills and abilities:

  • Experience in SAP fixed assets register/processes such as depreciation run, disposals, additions, stock count, project closure and valuations

    Your background:
